Dr. William Malvern Clopton, Sr., of Massachusetts and Virginia

The son of Colonel William Hugh Clopton and Margaret Agnes Corcoran, Dr. William Malvern Clopton was born September 3, 1906 in Lynn, Massachusetts and died July 17, 1989 at Staunton, Virginia. According to his obituary appearing in the July 18, 1989 Washington Post, Dr. Clopton married Hazel Wright, who died in 1988. A 1934 graduate of the University of Virginia, he was a past officer of both the American Medical Association and the Knights of Columbus. He practiced radiology in Washington. DC for 24 years until retirement.

At Dr. Clopton's death, he was survived by three sons and two daughter: William Malvern Clopton, Jr., Timothy M. Clopton, Stephen W. Clopton, Jane Clopton Charneco, and Ann Clopton Waddill.
