Bio/HistoryCaroline Ella Little of Alabama and Texas

Caroline Ella Little was the daughter of Julia Ann Williamson and her husband, Andrew Jackson Little. She was the great great great granddaughter of Catherine Clopton and her husband, George Perrin and a direct descendant of William Clopton, Gentleman and Ann (Booth) Dennett Clopton. She was born at White Plains, Alabama on October 23, 1868. On December 26, 1888, she married Professor Thomas Andrew Anderson at White Plains, Alabama. Professor Anderson was born February 21, 1860 in Calhoun County Alabama. He was the son of James Wilson Anderson and Margaret Elizabeth Thomas. Caroline Ella died May 6 1938 in Oxford, Alabama.

They had seven children: Thomas Abred Anderson, Ethel Lucile Anderson Cooper, James Hugh Anderson, Caroline Fae Anderson Middleton, Ladye Grace Anderson Elder, Julian Thompson Anderson, and Paul Jackson Anderson.

Caroline Ella was educated at the Huntsville (Alabama) Female College. She was a prominent member of the Confederate Dames Chapter, U.D.C.. She served as President and at the time of her death, she was the Chapter's Historian.

Her husband graduated from Oxford College in 1884 and began his teaching career in 1885. He was the Principal of Alabama's White Plains Academy, Sylacauga High School, Anniston City School, and Oxford City School.. He was President of the Fourth congressional District Agricultural School and Nacogdoches University, Nacogdoches, Texas.
