THE CLOPTON FAMILY ASSOCIATION
CFA Membership
Membership in the Clopton Family Association provides a subscription to the Clopton Family Newsletter. The newsletter has a wealth of historical, genealogical, and family event information. The CFA provides a means for members to exchange information and to organize reunions. Since 1984 there have been regional, national, and international reunion gatherings in the US and England. The CFA supports this Web Site and makes information available on the Web for CFA members.
The Clopton Family Association operates as a nonprofit organization under bylaws adopted in 1998. For the modest dues of $10 a year the Clopton Family Association provides a newsletter including historical and genealogic information on the Clopton and related families. Members are provided contact information for other members to encourage the exchange of information and to facilitate regional, national and international reunions. Volunteer donations from the membership have been contributed for the maintenance and repair of churches which have played key roles in Clopton history including the Holy Trinity Church at Long Melford, Suffolk, and St. Peter's Parish Church, New Kent County, Virginia. Committees of the CFA work to update Clopton genealogy, and the CFA maintains this website to provide information about the family and news about its activities.

American Lines: all families and individuals related to William and Ann Clopton of Virginia through male or female lines. Whenever possible please include references to your sources so that others may verify relationships and historical references. We also invite those with the surname Clopton who have not identified a relationship to William or Ann to submit information. This information will be included in an update to be published, and the basic genealogical information will be available as it is collected and revised on the Clopton Family website at www.cloptonfamily.org with details excluded for living individuals. Copy forms as you need or make legible handwritten copies. Forms are available at the website in various formats. Your packet will consist of the accompanying forms which include three types of pages: one showing who submitted the information and some general information about the family line, another for individual family information (information about individuals including husband, wife and children), and a third one for entering notes and other extra information. You will probably need a number of copies of the family and notes pages.
