Clopton Family Reunion In Williamsburg
June 21-24, 2012
The agenda for our reunion has been created to give the Clopton family members an opportunity to tour this restored colonial town, to visit St. Peter's Church (where William Clopton and his wife Ann were members), to be entertained by a performer who will who will show us what life was like in the Colonial Period, and to enjoy renewing friendships with other Clopton family members. In January a letter with registration information and the amount of the registration fee will be mailed to each member of the Clopton Family Association. Below you will find a preview of what to expect.

Come Early for a Visit to Jamestown and Yorktown
For those who would like to spend more time in Colonial Williamsburg or visit Jamestown and Yorktown or any of the other attractions in the area, The Woodlands will honor the special room rate three days prior to and three days following the reunion. If you would like to visit Jamestown and Yorktown, it is suggested that you plan to arrive in Williamsburg on Tuesday, June 19. Then you will have all day Wednesday and Thursday to visit these two sites.
At the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, you may purchase a combination ticket to visit both Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center, or you may purchase separate tickets for each location. Jamestown and Yorktown are connected to Williamsburg by the Colonial Parkway, making it very easy to drive from one to the other. We suggest allowing one day for each location.
There are also national parks at both Jamestown and Yorktown, so those who hold a National Park Senior Pass (which costs $10 and is valid for life) may visit them at no charge. The Senior Pass will admit the cardholder plus three additional people.

Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites
Headquarters for the Clopton Family Reunion will be the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites, conveniently located adjacent to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center. The hotel is operated by Colonial Williamsburg and offers a complimentary continental breakfast for all in the room. Our special room rate will be $99 a night for a room with two double beds that will accommodate up to four people. Some of these rooms also have a chair that converts to a single bed, but you must ask for one of these rooms (that will sleep five) when you make your reservation. There are also suites available for $139 that have a king bed and a sleep sofa. The suites sleep four, with the sleep sofa in a separate room from the bedroom. These rates will also be available three days prior to and three days following the reunion.
In the previous newsletter, a different hotel was listed, but we were able to get a better rate at the Woodlands, which is adjacent to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center where free shuttle buses take you to Colonial Williamsburg.
